Tamale Pie

  • Ingredients:

  • 1-12 oz pkg large noodles
  • 2 cans cream corn (17 oz - 1 lb)
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz)
  • 2 onions - chopped
  • 1 green pepper - chopped
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Grandma's seasoning (5-6 tsp.) NOTE: Grandma's Chili Powder is no longer available. Substitute your favorite brand of chili powder.
  • 2 cans tamales - chopped
  • 1 can pitted olives

In large skillet, sauté onions and green pepper in oil or bacon fat. When tender, add grandma's seasoning, garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste. Add tomato sauce.

Cook noodles in salted boiling water. Drain well. Add cream corn to noodles and stir, so noodles won't get sticky.

Add chopped tamales to onion mix.

In large pot, mix noodles and tamale mix. Stir. Add drained olives.

Bake in oiled baking dish. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-40 minutes.
