Steak Diane

  • Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 lb filet mignon, cut into 3/8-inch slices
  • 3 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large shallot, minced
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup prepared Lawry's Brown Gravy Mix
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 2 dashes Crystal hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt & pepper to taste

1. Sauté filet slices in butter for about 40 seconds each side and remove to a plate.

2. Add minced garlic and shallots to pan and sauté for about 3 minutes. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5 to 6 minutes. Add wine to deglaze the pan, and sauté until liquid is almost gone. Add filet slices back to the pan.

3. Add brandy and flambé. When flames have gone out, add the remaining ingredients. Serve immediately.
