- Ingredients:
- 1 package yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3-1/2 cups flour
1. Soak yeast in lukewarm water for 5 to 10 minutes. Scald milk, add sugar, salt and shortening, then cool to lukewarm. Combine soaked yeast and cooled milk mixture. Add beaten egg and flour and beat until smooth. Place dough in a greased bowl, brush top with some melted shortening, and cover with a clean towel. Let stand in a warm spot for 10 minutes, or until double in size.
2. Form into desired shapes and bake at 350 degrees until done.
